Hospital wards, theatres, plant rooms and medical gas alarms are managed by different teams and systems, so engineering staff lack one view of conditions that affect patients.

MILESGO gateways collect data from air handling units (AHU), chillers, medical gas alarm panels and pressure switches, differential pressure sensors, UPS units, generator controllers over BACnet/IP / Modbus TCP / Modbus RTU / SNMP, and deliver it to the BMS, SMS, email and messaging alarms, WEB HMI panels as BACnet/IP / OPC UA / MQTT. Field equipment keeps its own protocol and control logic; integration is done by configuration and point mapping, not custom code.

Implementation checklist for the project manager

  • Monitoring does not replace certified medical or safety alarm systems; keep them in place and treat MILESGO data as supervisory.
  • Fire and life-safety systems are monitored read-only; control stays with the certified fire system.
  • Freeze the point list and protocol mapping with the client before ordering hardware.
  • Define an alarm matrix (priority, recipient, escalation) and test every alarm end to end at SAT.
  • Keep OT networks segregated and use VPN for remote access instead of opening ports to the internet.
  • Hand over configuration backups, point table, IP plan and as-built drawings, with a short operator training.

Field layer: air handling units (AHU), chillers, medical gas alarm panels and pressure switches, differential pressure sensors, UPS units, generator controllers, connected over BACnet/IP / Modbus TCP / Modbus RTU / SNMP. Edge and integration layer: MILESGO protocol gateways and edge controllers, mounted on DIN rail in existing panels, polling each device, time-stamping values and buffering them locally. Upper layer: the BMS, SMS, email and messaging alarms, WEB HMI panels, which receives the data as BACnet/IP / OPC UA / MQTT. Remote access for maintenance runs over VPN rather than open internet ports.
